New Honda NSX In 2015

Honda have shown a production ready version of their new NSX at the Detroit Motor Show. This new model comes 25 years after the original was first released. The original was manufactured in Japan from 1990 until 2005 when production ceased. However the new model is to be built at the Marysville plant in Ohio.

Those of you who loved the purity of the original rear wheel drive and mid engine experience might be disappointed, as the new NSX is all wheel drive. The power comes courtesy of a Hybrid twin turbo V6 engine. The engine is believed to be derived from next years F1 engine they have been developing for McLaren, and it is expected that it will produce in excess of 500bhp with the combined power of the engine and electric motors.

The NSX will pit itself directly against some of the most loved supercars in the world, with its natural competition being cars like the Ferrari 458. We can’t wait to see the road tests start. There is no doubt it would have to be pretty special to tempt a 458 owner to switch, but sporty Honda’s have always managed to garner a large following.

The new NSX will undoubtedly be packed with technology, efficient, and comfortable for its type. If the NSX can still deliver on the much loved character that enthusiasts love, then this is undoubtedly a future classic.
